The ShowComing to Theatre Royal Drury Lane this summer, Disney's Hercules is a spectacular new musical comedy inspired by the 1997 Academy Award-nominated animated film. New and old fans alike will be sure to enjoy this nostalgic, crowd-pleasing film for all ages including songs from the original track list along with brand-new numbers. High on Mount Olympus, Zeus and Hera welcome a newborn son, but fate has other plans. Hades, filled with vengeance, plots to kill Hercules, but when things go wrong Hercules becomes mortal. Life as a demi-god among humans is tough and our hero struggles to fit in, often getting himself into trouble with his endless enthusiasm. Determined to discover his true identity and stop Hades from overthrowing Olympus, he embarks on an epic adventure. The stage production brings to life the memorable characters, including the feisty Megara, the bumbling Panic and Pain, and the grumpy but lovable Phil. After the success of Frozen and Aladdin, this show adds even more Disney magic to Theatreland. The show comes with a book written by Tony Awards winners Robert Horn (Tootsie, Shucked) and Kwame Kwei-Armah OBE (former artistic director of the Young Vic).
History of HerculesHercules was originally a 1997 animated musical fantasy comedy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation for Walt Disney Pictures. It is loosely based on the legendary hero Heracles and his tale from Greek Mythology. The musical production premiered in the U.S. originally in 2019 with outdoor staging in New York and was followed by a 2023 production in New Jersey. In early 2024, Hercules opened in Hamburg, Germany and was directed by Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Aladdin and Some Like It Hot), who will be directing this West End production.

Following an extensive global search, rising star Luke Brady ( As You Like It, The Prince of Egypt) has been cast as Hercules. The casting team was drawn to his "magnetism and presence," which they felt perfectly captured the essence of the mythical hero, making him the ideal choice for the role.
